In collaboration with an Extension Specialist or designee, assistsin the development, implementation, and management of researchbased educational programs that meet the needs of limited-resourceand socially-disadvantaged audiences, consistent with thephilosophy, policy and overall mission, goals and educationalobjectives of the Cooperative Extension at North CarolinaAgricultural and Technical State University. Assists with on-goingprogram evaluation and recommends program revisions based on dataand evolving needs of the audience served. Independently designsand implements programs as assigned. The vision for the SNAPEd(Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Education Program) is to empowerparticipants to improve behaviors related to nutrition and physicalactivity in accordance with current Dietary Guidelines forAmericans and the USDA food guidance. The program addresses ratesof obesity, poor nutrition, and lack of access to healthy foods,especially in low income populations. This position serves as theSNAP-Ed project coordinator and supports the federalnutritional-assistance and education program project with budgetmanagement, staffing and staff development, program evaluation andgrant reporting.
